In 1869, a family leaves Salt Lake City on an arduous journey to establish a new outpost of their church.
They cart all their belongings, leaving safety behind. The terrain is rough and unforgiving. When an encounter with dangerous men turns violent, their attempt to flee proves futile. Left with no other choice, they must prepare to defend themselves from an expected attack. Their pursuers hold the advantage because a party of mostly women and children are no match for outlaws in the wild country... Unless they are.

Logo
The production sought a simple yet distinctive wordmark for the film, inspired by the Deseret typography of the Book of Mormon. After exploring numerous variations and iterations with similar typefaces, I refined the design by incorporating subtle, recognizable elements that made the wordmark uniquely its own.
“God Can’t Save You Out Here”
The poster design emerged from a series of conversations with the producer and a shared drive filled with breathtaking scenery from the film’s various shooting locations in Utah. The required tagline carried an unsettling weight, setting the tone for the entire composition.
The design took shape naturally—one element leading to another. The family appears small and lost within the vastness of nature, overshadowed by an ominous looming threat.
The concept immediately resonated with the production team. After a few minor adjustments, we arrived at the final version in no time.

Opening Titles
To ensure visual cohesion, the opening and closing titles were designed in the same off-white color and gritty style as the movie logo.
